I like the hair more after brushing the waves together. It becomes a big soft wave instead of looking like individual curled sections.

A few large rollers at the crown gave me more lift without turning the loose wave into tighter curls. That's become my favorite refresh method.

There's already plenty of density, so I don't tease the crown at all. Redirecting the roots gives me enough lift without making the top huge.

Window seat showed me that the pixie shape is easier to reset away from home. The cap stayed comfortable through the flight and I liked not having hair on my neck. The only thing I had to watch was that sleeping against the window pressed one side flatter. Resetting only that side after landing fixed it without redoing everything.
Because the strands bend and move, different brown tones show from different angles. It gives the finished braids much more dimension.
Random but useful: the short length works well with blazers. On a quick coffee run, the hair does not cover the whole neckline.
