After washing, I separate the pieces and let them dry naturally. The waves settle into a soft pattern on their own.
A couple pieces looked too defined next to my own hair. Separating them into smaller curls gave me the less-perfect finish I wanted.
I let it dry most of the way on its own and then shape the front. That keeps me from using heat every single wash day.
