Real hair isn't one texture either

That's what made the mix work for me. My natural hair has different patterns, so perfect uniformity isn't something I need.

Comb Gave the Cut Better Balance

Nape made me realize the cut does not need equal volume everywhere. A comb was useful for the nape but my fingers worked better on the top. The only thing I had to watch was that combing the crown too much made it look overly neat. Using different tools for different parts instead of treating the whole wig the same fixed it with very little extra work.

The side view sold me

I wasn't sure about the cut from the front at first, but once I saw it from the side I loved it. The layers fall really nicely around my cheek and jaw without looking bulky.
